Hei, Hei,
Family and friends
Thing promised thing due;
Here is the end of episode 3 and especially some pictures of Wapu. I’m sorry for this bad handling, the photos were incorporated into the “original” text but it must be done in another format, so I will attach some of them to you as an attachment. For those who have an FB account, you already have them in consultation.
So over to us: Amira, A surprising encounter!
Imagine a university that is a little out of the way, with a family atmosphere, far from any urban activity, if it is not the motorway that does not pass far. The university is part of a building complex which includes on one side: a super comfort hotel, an indoor swimming pool, a gym, a restaurant, a beauty center, and on the other side: the university, demo kitchens, the 2 place to be “Caffelli” cafeteria, an amphitheater and an aesthetics school!
We meet daily representatives of all these branches, the administration: shirt and t-shirt, students without a specific mission: in casual or tracksuit mode, the cooks dressed in black aprons with a bandana on their heads, beauty young ladies in white coats, maintenance people: in apple green t-shirt!
Remember we fed 350 Finns with our made in Africa cuisine. That day among the guests, the young apprentice beauticians came to lunch. They do it every day but are particularly numerous during events.
Dressed in my beautiful jacket Paul Bocuse – United Colors, with an algerian flag & amp; a french one, a scarf tied on the head, I restock the buffet. . A group of 3 young girls in white coats help themselves, I smile, quite happy to have clients! One of the young girls said to me “Sabah El Khir”. Surprise I answer him the same thing, well don’t do those who did not know what that means, if not ask Babel;
After this first step, she asks me in English where I come from and there I explain in English: the master’s degree, the exchange with Finland and our role in the cafeteria today. She says it’s “great”, this time in French. I am facing a magnificent young girl of 17 years or less, who apart from her black scarf on her head looks like all the other beauticians (very pale foundation, eyebrow drawn with a brush).
She resumes, introduces me to her two colleagues, two little blondes: Norah and Velia, and tells me my name is Amira! All this in French. I am studying aesthetics in Haaga, I was born in Helsinki and my parents are…. Algerians.
It’s worth it, I stop the service for a while and settle in with her. Her parents came to Finland about 20 years ago, they both work, one in construction and the other in education, she has siblings. At the end of lunch she asks me for my number, gives me hers.
These few minutes with her were moving, a bit of Algeria in Finland.
The next day Amira calls me, which she will do almost every day. We see each other, she moves on to the kitchen, I have become: Tata Ryma, I get small gifts, she brings me Finnish specialties, chocolates flavored with red fruits and other small things. She introduces me to the rest of these colleagues, There is only Amira who calls me Tata, the others are enough of a “Moi”. But that’s cool!
I realize that part of the generation of the post 90s are magnificent, they waltz from one language to another without complex, damn the grammar, the polite formulas, what matters is the exchange with the other.
